HELP REFUGEES: STATEMENT ON THE CALAIS WALL - September 7th 2016

Help Refugees are disheartened and deeply disappointed that once again huge amounts of money and resources are being poured into building walls, and not into helping care for the vulnerable, displaced people in the refugee camp in Calais, where nearly 1,000 children have simply been left to languish and cater for themselves. As history has repeatedly shown, building walls is never the solution.

As ye,t no attempts to identify unaccompanied children eligible under Dubs amendment have been made by the UK or French governments. Not ONE refugee child has been brought to the UK under Dubs, despite misleading reports to the contrary.

Our latest census shows there are:

- 9,106 people living in the camp
- 676 unaccompanied children- the youngest of which is 8 years old

Whilst our government spends millions on this wall and on further negotiations, we are struggling to provide camp residents with even one meal a day.

Please donate anything you can here, thank you.
